THE PAJAMA JEANS.

Coat: ZARA / Plaid Shirt: ROMWE / Jeans: Fidelity "Soho Ace" / Boots: Topshop Premium / Purse: Celine Luggage / Mirror Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Aviators

I used to be one of those: "leggings only" high-school girls. I thought jeans were the devil's greatest form of evil. Thankfully as I got more experience with styling clothes, I began to realize leggings actually didn't look that great, or great at all. Even as an alternative to tights. Even if your butt is covered. They just look weird. I especially refuse to wear leggings to castings- where models are encouraged to pair them with high heels and tank tops (eek).
Enter: the pajama jeans. I swear to you the moment I touched these jeans I had a magical connection with them. Comfortable jeans are so rare to come by, and these Fidelity jeans master the art of comfort flawlessly. You know jeans are comfortable when you get home and you don't whip them off first thing.
I wore this quite winter-esque looking outfit to get my locks chopped off, and now I can honestly say I am at least happy with my hair! It is better to have healthy and short hair than stringy long hair that is accompanied with hair extensions everyday. My impulse decision was also due to looking at myself one day and being like, "wtf, I looked like this two years ago!"
Change is good :)
Adios for now, you won't be seeing my face for some time thanks to the surgeon removing my wisdom teeth haha!

SHE WORE BLUE VELVET.

Leather jacket: K-Styleme / Blouse: Free People / Black Jeans: Hudson Jeans / Velvet Boots: Anna Xi / Necklace: Forever 21 / Purse: Celine

I used to never be a leather jacket kind-of girl. I thought they were far too rough looking for someone that typically prefers pastels over dark shades, and silks over leather. Well, I was wrong. This leather jacket has not come off of me since I got it, and I was actually approached and asked to work for a major fashion retailer while I was wearing it. The magical leather jacket, ladies and gentlemen!
For a mild spring day I paired it with my favorite ultra-soft blouse from Free People, everyday jeans, and my new velvet booties that are striking and so beautiful. In all actuality this outfit was worn to IKEA, and it wans't so easy manouvering 50kg of furniture in these heels, but that's cool, don't worry, I got it all under control ;)
See you soon!

TARTAN & BURNOUT.

Burnout T-Shirt: K-Styleme.com / Tartan jeans: Topshop (similar) / Cat flats: Choies.com / Hat: H&M / Purse: 3.1 Phillip Lim / Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs

You know, I was walking downtown yesterday when I thought to myself: "I'm not cold!!! How am I not cold?! My fingers aren't freezing! I'm comfortable!"
Spring time excites me just a little too much.. ;)
If I had to give one piece of clothing the label of being "my signature item"- it would have to be a grey t-shirt. I have them in all different shades, washes, sizes, some with prints, some with holes. It's like pokemon- I just gotta catch em' all.
I specifically fancy this grey t-shirt for the fit and the amazing cut-out details on the collar. I paired it with the tartan pants I only wore once- when I was in London, and kitty flats that I can't help but love.
I'm curious- what would you say is your "signature item"?

BLUE & WHITE.

I bought these white velvet brocade jeans from ZARA in February and thought they would look perfect in the Spring. Well, what's a girl to do when the sun (finally) decides to come out? Obviously dress like it ;)

This saturday was spent brunching at an amazing raw vegan restaurant in Toronto called Live Food Bar, which makes healthful food look like art. To the right are raw chocolate crepes with coconut whipped cream, chocolate cashew cream, fruit preserves, and figs.. oh ya.

Today the weather is supposed to reach +15, and although the sun is not out, you sure bet I'll be spending my day outside!

MIKHAEL KALE FW13.

As promised, here are some pictures (and a video) I found of myself walking in the Mikhael Kale FW13 show last week.

The number one question I get asked is: "Sonya how did you manage to walk in those shoes?!" Honestly, it wasn't very difficult. The platform is so high that you don't really feel like you're walking on 9" heels!
I strongly urge you to look through the other pictures from the show, because the designs are seriously so striking and beautiful. I was dying over the dresses on the other models; they are all so detail-oriented and luxurious in a unique way.
I'm off to a casting now, and also off to enjoy the sunny weather Toronto has graced us with today!

BACKSTAGE AT MIKHAEL KALE FW13.

Photography by Jeffrey Chan.

Last week I had the amazing opportunity of walking in the Mikhael Kale FW13 show, which would also make it my first "real" runway show ever. I feel beyond lucky to have such an experience, as I can honestly say that I would have never, ever imagined it to be a possibility. Being in a room with so many talented, passionate and experienced people is the greatest inspiration I could ever ask for.
Tomorrow I'll post the pictures from the show.
