THE EMPIRE STATE.

Hey everyone!
I've been so MIA lately, especially with YouTube, but I hope my post today makes up for it! If you didn't know, New York is a state, a state in America. Canada and New York make up a border, right where Niagra Falls is. Sorry if I sound like Professor Obvious, but some people thought that New York was a state in Canada.. no haha.
I woke up on Sunday morning and my mom suggested that we go to Niagara Falls (which we kind of do every year so it's quite annoying at this point), so I said we should grab our passports and cross the border to New York. Honestly, my only motivation was Target and the American Vitamin Water flavours. We didn't get to go to Target, so hopefully some other time!
If I knew how to drive, I swear I'd head down to the States at least once a month (just for the vitamin water haha)
See you soon!

HIGH PARK.

Here's a little outfit post that I wore when I went to high park a few days ago! I wrote on twitter "high park" and someone replied "uh...", and only then did I realize the name "high park" is totally misleading haha. High park is like a Toronto version of central park, although who could compare anything to New York City (I'm having withdrawal right now). See you guys soon!

REBECCA MINKOFF

Hi. I like shopping.
Accurate introduction, don't you think?
I went to go get my (garbage) phone replaced today at a mall, and I came out with a new purse.. true story.
Ah, the Rebecca Minkoff 5 Zip. I remember being in awe of this bag like 3 years ago, when I also fainted at the thought of spending that much money on a purse. Now that I realize designers are asking for more than $10,000 for a bag (why oh why Hermès Birkin must you cost the amount people in the olden days bought houses?), Rebecca Minkoff bags are quite inexpensive in comparison!
I saw it hanging on a mannequin today in Aritzia, and it was on sale! Aw ya! It was the same amount that it costs to get it in the states, so I thought it was a good enough deal!
The size is absolutely perfect, and I love how it makes any outfit look instantly more chic.
You can find the Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip online too, if you were thinking of purchasing it. I'm kind of bummed because you can find it for such a better price online, and there's always sales and coupons!
See you guys later!

DIY HIGH WAISTED SHORTS

Why hello there!
Remember these shorts that I showed you guys before and said I was going to rip up? Well, I did! It took me 3 days, lots of cleaning, but I did it! I'm also incredibly proud of myself because they're my favourite shorts I own by far. High waisted shorts like 500 times more comfortable than low-rise shorts cause they don't rise up, fall down, and also they just look kick-asssss.
How do you like them? Next I'm ripping up a lighter pair…and I'm getting it all on camera for you guys! That's how much I love you. K that sounded egotistic.
Anyways goodbye! hahaha

RUNNING AROUND IN THE HEAT.

Ah, it’s 40 degrees outside.
The temperature in which you don’t even want to think about clothing. So obviously, I wore the shortest shorts I own and the thinnest tank top invented haha.
I was filming a video outside on this day, and then decided to play around with my new gadget (a remote).
Have a great day and I’ll see ya soon!

I HAVE A REMOTE!

Hey there! Look who has internet!
I figured out how to connect my phone’s data to my laptop… and I mean the internet is as slow as it was in like 1990 but it still works and that makes me incredibly happy! I got some new stuff today that I’m going to share soon, but for now here’s a weird picture of me with a remote for my camera that I got last week! At least now I can take pictures on my own!
Enjoy my duck face, and adios until next time!

OH NADEGE.

Hey guys!
In the next week or so I want to show you guys my favorite places in Toronto. A lot of people have asked me to share my favorite restaurants, and fashion boutiques because they're planning on visiting. Toronto is a gorgeous place to live, but we don't have billions of "tourist-only" attractions, so hopefully I'm a little bit of a help!

I introduce to you: Nadege. It's a cafe that is located on queen street west and Trinity Bellwoods park (one of my favourite neighborhoods). The macarons- are flipping amazing, I have no other way to describe them.
So if you live in Toronto, feel free to break into a sprint and get over there ASAP. Just don't take all the vanilla macarons, I call those.

GETTING CRAFTY.

Sonya doesn't have internet anymore; and when she was told that it's gonna take more than 3 days to get it back... well, I don't even know what to say to explain the horror. I'd say I'm sorry, but really, I'm just sorry for myself :(
So here I am in starbucks, posting this to show you guys the project I'm starting. I'm going to make a video about dying shorts and ripping them, but first I'm gonna break apart a practice pair. I bought some studs yesterday on ebay for like a dollar, so when I get them in I'm studding everythinggg
I'm already close to done, and they look awesome!
Did you guys ever make shorts? If you did share your tips!! Bye bye and see you soon!

I CONFESS. I'M A FOODIE.

Oh ya, and I ate it in the bathtub too... wonderful ;) haha
I came back from a run today and decided that hey- I need to consume some protein. That's what all the cool kids do, no? PB2 (powdered peanut butter) was the only thing that seemed high enough in protein, so I kind of just pulled this freaking amazing dessert out of thin air.
The peanut butter and walnuts... oh my gosh, amazing. I could eat that on it's own.

Here's the recipe:

5 strawberries cut into fourths

2 handfulls of blueberries
1 tablespoon of chocolate PB2 or regular peanut butter
6 organic golden berries (which by the way are amazing)
2 walnut halves crushed

There's 72% of your vitamin C daily required intake, 7 g of fiber and 5g of protein right in this bowl! There's also 5% iron but meh, whatever ;)

ROOM DECORATION.

I woke up today with the weirdest desire to buy a new duvet. Mine sucks. It's from IKEA, and it's rough and not desirable to sleep in. Upgrade please!
I've always wanted the frill duvet from Urban Outfitters, but have hesitated because of the price. But considering the even prettier version at Anthropologie is around $350, I think what I baught was a bargain considering how feminine and delicate it is!
I also picked up "bon soir" pillow shams that are absolutely adorable, and a book organizer for my desk, so I can put my school books and planner in it (without it just laying around... on the floor).

I absolutely love shopping for home decor! :) Maybe.. even more than for clothes.
What do you like shopping most for?

CLOVER CANYON.

Hi, I'm Sonya Esman and I'm obsessed with silk.
I found these shorts the other day, and it was like love at first sight. They were the last pair left not only in the store, but in the country... I made them call to check (The last pair left was a medium, so I wanted to see if there were smaller sizes available cause these are a little baggy). When I put them on the size issues could definitely be worked around because they were stunning. The brand Clover Canyon was created relatively recently in California, and the whole line consists of youthful patterns on basic materials. I did some research about the brand after I bought these shorts, and it's safe to say they are definitely a designer worth keeping your eye out for, because they're going to be huge soon! These exact shorts are for sale at Saks right now if you want to check them out, but their whole collection can be found on their website
What do you think?

Love the blazer!

H&M TREND JEANS & WILFRED

Happy monday lovelies!
As promised, I'm going to share some of the things I got yesterday, and I'll show you guys the rest later.
The top is from an amazing Canadian designer named Wilfred, which is sold in Aritzia stores (that are now located in New York City too)! Wilfred is definitely one of my favorite designers because of the feminine design, quality and neat sewing, and of course, my absolute favorite thing is that they use silk in their designs all the time. Like real, 100% silk! None of that rayon or satin crap (Forever 21 anyone?)
Aritzia is having a sale right now on pretty much everything in store, so I would definitely suggest going by if you're in Canada. The shirt used to be $60, but I got it for $48- which is not too shabby considering how flawless it is!
Also, I went by H&M to check out what new stuff they had, and when I found these jeans... I died. My heart froze. They were actually being sold. I was actually looking at them. And they had my size.. what is this magical sequence of fortunate events?
I found these jeans on Andy's or stylescrapbook's blog and I assumed that these were given to super cool bloggers only and then were going on sale for like a day in the fall. Au contraire! There is a whole new collection of gorgeous stuff from H&M, featuring all my favorites: Silk shorts, velvet tank tops, and of course, pearl and gem cuff jeans! Perfection!
Here's the outfit I wore today, and let's move past the fact that these shorts are 10,000 sizes too big for me. That's just what happens when you really like shopping at vintage stores for shorts but they don't feel the same way.
Don't forget to check back tomorrow for some other new purchases! Just a hint: it rhymes with milk but doesn't make my stomach hurt for a week.

COOLEST NAIL POLISH EVER.

Am I right? Isn't this nail polish stunning?
It's from one of the newer OPI collections, namely Spiderman (Oh ya, I'm soo cool for wearing spiderman nail polish). The colour is called Just Spotted the Lizard (yup, just got even cooler).
It's a dead on dupe for the Chanel peridot, so if you're not crazy about spending something like $30 on a nail polish, I would totally recommend this one! I got a mini sized bottle at a beauty supply store for around $3! Honestly, I will never buy full sized nail polish again after discovering mini sized bottles at discount beauty supply stores!

If you live in Toronto, I would recommend this shop called TBBS around the eaton center, it's my absolute favorite!
Anyways, today I went downtown and bought a few things that I can't wait to show you guys!
See you soon!

FRILLS AND BEADS.

Hey everyone!
Here's the outfit I wore yesterday, when I wasn't at the pool of course :)
The dress is from Free People, the rings are from Brandy Melville, my rhinestone sandals are Topshop, and of course I have my Ray-Ban wayfarers
I'm off to get a manicure now, because my shellac is probably mid-nail right now haha
Have a great saturday!

POOL DAY.

Hey there!
Today my long-long-long-long-long time friend Julia and I went to the pool because…well, what else do you do when it’s 36 degrees outside and you literally feel like you’re being baked alive?

I’m not really a pool or swimming person, because I just don’t do cold water. I can’t even take a “warm shower” because it’s probably too cold for me, I like my water boiling hot- through winter and summer haha. That being said, I probably only swam for 3 seconds, but hey- at least I stood in the water for a good hour! Baby steps, baby steps ;)

Now I’m gonna do my math homework (you probably didn’t want to hear the word math, right? sorry!) and then go to a bonfire with my friends later.
Goodbye!!

FLOWER POWER

I'm back in Toronto! Woop woop!
Of course, jeg lag is also back, considering I went back in time 8 hours while on a plane. Today I woke up at 3 in the morning, and surprisingly I'm still going strong haha

I've already managed to bike to the only store open that sells kale chips (my addiction, if you didn't know), and make a video! Now I have to focus on school, although I wish I could forget its existence like everyone else on summer break right now.
The pictures are a preview of a video coming later today! :) These leggings are the softest things ever, I almost fell asleep in them last night (jet lag is so fun!)
Leggings are from Stylemint, but similar ones are sold on Asos and J Brand makes floral jeans that are quite popular.
