NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: DAY ONE

Floral dress: Lucca Couture / Combat boots: Maje / Bag: Celine / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Clubmaster / Braclets: Asos, Topshop, Hermes / Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Hello Hello!
This year I decided to embark on a journey that I've only dreamt about, up until this point. I bought an airplane ticket, RSVP'd to invitations, booked a hotel room, and started planning my outfits. I've been following Fashion Week for years now, and every year I tweet something a long the lines of "Everyone is at fashion week and I'm just in bed being irrelevant". Now that I'm here, there's not a moment I have that isn't filled with gratitude. I seriously walk down the streets of NYC and smile. Maybe I'm cheesy, or maybe I'm quite literally in love with this city.
On the first day, I had the absolute best time meeting with bloggers from around the world. Come to think of it, one of the best parts of this trip has been the possibility of meeting other like-minded people. I met Liza, a russian beauty blogger, and we spent the afternoon window shopping, filming fun little videos for YouTube, and of course, what kind of tourist would I be if I wasn't taken to Times Square? ;)
When night rolled around I met with Sofie Eliseeva, one of my favourite Russian fashion bloggers. We spent some time in TriBeCa, drinking "French toast", which seriously- if you run across a cocktail that shamelessly shares it's name with a breakfast, run away.

For my first day, I decided to wear a Saint Laurent ad inspired outfit that I was instantly drawn to when I was scrolling through the September issue of Vogue. Floral print dress, fishnet tights, combat boots, and you're good. It's the perfect mix of innocence and grunge, and I am 100% committed to this beautiful lovechild of styles.
See you tomorrow for more Fashion Week craziness!

THE REPEATED OUTFIT.

IMG_8719 IMG_8706IMG_8707
Tank: Topshop / Skirt: Topshop / Heels: Alexander Wang / Purse: Rebecca Minkoff

Ye-haw! A new camera for classisinternal! Did you notice? I'm still figuring out all these adobe photoshop mumbo-jumbos and exporting tricks and focusing and iso and whatever else goes into nice photographs.
You see the problem with blogging is that even if you have a nice camera, you're not the one standing behind the lens taking your own picture. Sadly I cannot duplicate myself, and teaching people how to use a 10lb camera, meh, I would rather not.

Onto the outfit: I swear I've worn this a solid 5 times. I showed up to my agency one day wearing this and they told me it would be perfect for castings... so I kind of just highlighted it as my go-to outfit. I think it's important when going to castings or interviews to be wearing something you like, and something that would make you shine amongst your competitors. Maybe they'll remember me as that girl in the cute skirt- hey, that's already better than nothing!

ROYAL BLUE IN THE U.K.

Neon Cropped Sweater: Topshop / Striped Shorts: Choies.com / Jewelled Sneakers: K-Styleme / Sunglasses: Miu Miu / Skull Necklace: LeiVanKash

It's funny how I left the house today looking totally different than how I came home...
We started the day by driving to a mall in Marbella to buy my sister new crocs, but of course I had to hit up all the stores that tickled my fancy in the meantime. Several shopping bags later we drove to Gibraltar, which is a rock-type island that belongs to the United Kingdom at the very south of Spain. You have to go through passport control and everything, and everyone there had a british accent- pretty cool if you ask me!
I finally found these Miu Miu glasses that I've been searching for everywhere! I don't think these glasses look "complimentary" on anyone- you just need to tell yourself "I freaking love these, hence I am going to rock them, hence I am going to look good and feel good!"Simple, simple.
After a "breakie smoothie" in Gibraltar, we drove all the way back to Marbella for dinner :)
Tomorrow I shall search for speedy wifi in the city to upload a video!
Peace out. Girl scout.

TARTAN & BURNOUT.

Burnout T-Shirt: K-Styleme.com / Tartan jeans: Topshop (similar) / Cat flats: Choies.com / Hat: H&M / Purse: 3.1 Phillip Lim / Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs

You know, I was walking downtown yesterday when I thought to myself: "I'm not cold!!! How am I not cold?! My fingers aren't freezing! I'm comfortable!"
Spring time excites me just a little too much.. ;)
If I had to give one piece of clothing the label of being "my signature item"- it would have to be a grey t-shirt. I have them in all different shades, washes, sizes, some with prints, some with holes. It's like pokemon- I just gotta catch em' all.
I specifically fancy this grey t-shirt for the fit and the amazing cut-out details on the collar. I paired it with the tartan pants I only wore once- when I was in London, and kitty flats that I can't help but love.
I'm curious- what would you say is your "signature item"?

BLUE & WHITE.

I bought these white velvet brocade jeans from ZARA in February and thought they would look perfect in the Spring. Well, what's a girl to do when the sun (finally) decides to come out? Obviously dress like it ;)

This saturday was spent brunching at an amazing raw vegan restaurant in Toronto called Live Food Bar, which makes healthful food look like art. To the right are raw chocolate crepes with coconut whipped cream, chocolate cashew cream, fruit preserves, and figs.. oh ya.

Today the weather is supposed to reach +15, and although the sun is not out, you sure bet I'll be spending my day outside!

HOLLYWOOD HILLS.

Friday was a day that brought on confusion: it was supposed to rain and be cold. What really happened? It was warm and sunny. Thanks California ;)
We decided to drive up the Hollywood Hills, which let me tell you, is overwhelming in the best way possible. The views, the houses, and the roads are everything you would think they'd be. Then we drove to Toluca lake because we expected to see celebrities jogging and paparazzi on every corner... that didn't happen. We ended up doing some shopping at the Third Street Promenade, which is when I decided to change into my new wildfox jumper. We had dinner at Urth Caffe again, because it was that good yesterday. From now on it'll only get warmer, so say hello to the denim cut offs :)

FIRST DAY IN L.A.

Shirt: Asos / Jeans: Urban Outfitters / Cut-out boots: Topshop / Beanie: Urban Outfitters / Purse: Celine Luggage

How would I describe the first day in LA? Oasis.
We got in last night and instantly went for a walk outside and breathed in the tropical air, wandered around gas stations and settled on a pint of ice cream from Ralph's.
Today we started our day off at 7AM thanks to jet lag, but it was actually quite nice because we got a lot of things done within the day. We walked to Whole Foods for grocery shopping and grabbed breakfast (...and chocolate) while we were there. From then on, we got lucky enough to be able to have access to a car to drive to West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, which is where we mostly spent the day. Everyone in LA uses this "cold" weather to their advantage and breaks out cute winter coats, whereas I whip out my t-shirts ;)
We had dinner at Katsuya on Hollywood and Vine (Hillary Duff song memories, anyone?) and then drove back home.
Unfortunately we didn't get insanely lucky with the weather, but that's not going to stop me from having an amazing time.
See you in 90210 tomorrow.

ALL THE RAGE: CUT-OUT BOOTS.

What is it with me and getting on board with cool new fashion trends?
When something is seriously trending I usually don't care much for it, but then two months later when it's already old news, I suddenly find myself loving the item...
Trend-talk aside, I am o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d (say in P'Trique voice) with cut-out boots of all shapes and sizes! They fit so seamlessly into spring time, considering they are practically the lovechild of sandals and boots, which I'll have you know, are two of my favorite types of shoes.
You can rock these boots with anything from denim cut-offs if you're lucky enough to live in a mild climate, and they also look amazing with a pair of skinny jeans.
What do you think of them?

DECIPHER REFLECTIONS

These past few days have been quite gloomy and unreadable- which to me means wearing my favorite and most comfortable sweaters (and glorious veggie sandwiches at urban herbivore) are a must! Aztec or printed cardigans are such a fun and summer-esque way to spice you the usual solid cardigans, and surprisingly  I don't ever get tired of them because they are quite universal!  It's February, which means only good things are to come from now on! Fashion week/month is coming up, and so many more fun events!
See you soon!

SNOWY STABLES.

A preppy, riding-boot accessorized outfit is quite unusual for me. I found these topshop boots a month ago, tried them on, and for whatever reason decided not to get them. Thankfully when I came back a couple days ago, they were marked down more than 70%. Total steal for the quality and how wearable they are!
The Ray-Ban aviators are also a brand new addition to my wardrobe. They are a part of the new Summer 2013 collection, and despite their current out-of-season appeal, I love them to pieces!
Also, yes, I finally decided it was time to start wearing an actual coat, unlike this outfit post.
Are you proud of me? My blood temperature is!
See you soon,
xo

LONDON CALLING!

Last friday night I arrived in London after a smooth 6 hour flight from Toronto. As you all probably know, I was the winner of the Nokia x LeiVanKash contest back in December and got to take a trip up to London to design a limited edition piece of jewelry with Leila!

The first day started really early, and we pretty much got straight to work as soon as I came downstairs from my hotel room. We were filming all around London, but while working, I thankfully got to take a tour around the city and check out Big Ben and the London Eye. We walked around several markets and cafes, went to Libertys, got pizza for lunch, and then finally it was time to design with Leila. The whole time I was overwhelmed with inspiration and encouragement, and I seriously have to thank Leila for the guidance! It's amazing having someone to look up to as a mentor. We ended the day off at a dim sum restaurant, and then I evidently crashed from a very tiring, but amazing day.

DENIM DAYS.

Good news! I won the Nokia Lumia x LeiVanKash contest
I am absolutely speechless because these past few weeks have been so incredibly impactful. I graduated high school, got my driver's licence, and won a trip to London to design a piece of limited edition jewelry with LeiVanKash! When I said it was the "first chapter" of my life in my last blog post, I guess I wasn't kidding. It's an amazing feeling to have somebody believe in you and your passion. Never give up on your dreams :) You hear it all the time, but that's because it's true.

ECCENTRIC.

Pairing a patterned blouse with untraditional bottoms is quite the challenge. I believe that whatever your wildest desires are, when it comes to patterns, go for it! As long as it's harmonious in some way, though.
Whether it works or not- you'll still be eccentric; and hey, that's already better than being boring.
This upcoming week is going to be a busy one: I have a shoot for an iphone  app (with one of the best and loveliest makeup artists), and more school school school. Can't believe I'm lessons away from being graduated!
See you soon!
