DANCE ON THE CLOUDS.

Faux Leather Jacket: ZARA (similar online) / Cloud Skirt & Top: Choies / Metallic heels: Alaia from The Outnet / Lips necklace: Choies

It's all been a total blur since last week when I returned from NYFW. It swear it feels as though I was never really there because the days were so hectic and lively, that they were over before I knew it. I digress, can we just talk about the fact that it's practically mid-November here in Toronto? Seriously, it was 9 degrees Celsius (48 degrees F) a couple days ago, which to my surprise, I've been worshipping. I still keep my air conditioner blasting in my house because I suppose my blog has been so boiled this summer that it takes a recovery time (that's my uneducated, ridiculous assumption anyway).

But alas, leather jackets have finally come into the picture! Can I get a hallelujah? We already know I love screwing over a perfectly feminine outfit (here) with pieces of grunge culture. So oops I did it again- with this leather jacket paired with gorgeous Alaia heels from The Outnet, a cloudy duo, and a perfectly sparkling pair of lips- or six.

So these few days are pretty much filled with ways to end up back in NYC. I'm not quite level-desperate yet, but I'm definitely working at it every day.
See you next week, when it will undoubtedly be freaking winter soon.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: DAY TWO.

Photos by George Elder
Entire outfit from ZARA / Hat: Asos / Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim / Bracelets: Topshop, Hermes, Asos.

On my second day at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I wore a faux leather crop top/sports bra, dark wash denim boyfriend jeans, minimalistic heels, my new 3.1 Phillip Lim pashli and a baseball cap to finish it off. I believe this is called "sports luxe", a trend that has been dominating the world of fashion this spring and summer.
I had the pleasure of attending the BCBG Max Azria show, which kicked off not only NYFW, but essentially all of fashion month! Watching a fashion show was really interesting because I'm used to the technicalities of runway from backstage, or a model's perspective. It was enlightening to be the one analyzing the models and drawing conclusions on their outfits ;)
Some of my favourite pieces that Max Azria featured in his Spring 2014 collection were crisp crop-tops, light trench coats, androgynous cuts, and glasses with thick black frames. Powder blue dominated the colour scheme, with the occasional greys, nudes, and floral prints.

BURNING BRIDGES.

You know when you see something in a store, and you can't stop staring at it? It's weird, and you have no idea how it would look like once it's on you. Evidently, you must try this questionable item on.
Well, that's exactly what happened with this peplum dress from the new ZARA collection.
I paired it with opaque tights, because let's face it, one experience of being half-naked in the snow is more than enough for me.
Go-with-everything boots - check! Go-with-everything coat - check!

This has been a really fun week of meetings, events, and showrooms, which is definitely my favorite way to fill up my agenda! I also faced my fear and "burned a bridge" this week, and am more than excited to talk about it in more details in the near future.
See you soon!

BIGGIE SAYS SO.

This shirt; let's talk about it for a second. It's the epitome of cool.
Paired with embellished jeans, classic heels and mirrored ray-bans, you have yourself a perfect spring outfit. But wait, it's not spring. In fact it seems like winter just started considering the monstrous snow fall the east coast had last week.
Melting snow is a boot destroyer. It is not my friend, I'll tell you that.
Today I'm off to the #Iloveessence event to check out the new essence collection, and you best believe I'll be taking you all along.
See you soon.

"NEW YEAR, NEW ME!" - THE BOYFRIEND JEAN

Asos / J Brand (pictured below) / Zara / River Island / One Teaspoon (which I have been lusting after)

Boyfriend jeans have come a long way.
I remember when they used to literally look like men's jeans. Too wide of a leg, too uniform, too.. awkward. I've noticed more and more that I've recently become incredibly attracted to boyfriend jeans! They look almost like skinny jeans, except they possess a harem pant charm and a pinch of laid back cool.

The key to a perfect boyfriend jean?
- Perfectly fitted at the hips (buy your size, don't size up or down!)
- Rips and distressing to taste. I like a moderate amount of distressing. Boyfriend jeans without rips look off to me.
- The ideal shade of light blue. I find that boyfriend jeans work exponentially better when they are of a light-wash denim.
- A rolled up ankle, especially when pairing with heels.
- Confidence!

Toronto was pretty dramatically snowed in this morning, which honestly doesn't bother me too much. I don't have to drive to work, which means jasmine green tea can be my best friend right now. It's quite picturesque looking to my terrace and seeing ... white, and only white.
 See you soon!

LAST DAY IN LONDON.

Coat: ZARA / Silk Tank: Wilfred / Jeans: Hudson Jeans / Boots: Jeffrey Campbell 'rumble' / Beanie: Urban Outfitters

Ah, the second, and unfortunately last post about my trip to London, which consisted of one full day, and a half day.
The half day was reserved to shopping, checking out the city, taking a typical bus tour, and an afternoon tea at the Charlotte Hotel. To our luck, it didn't rain while we were there, so the weather was thankfully cooperating with us!

We started with breakfast at The Riding House Cafe, where I got a cute parfait bowl and a fresh juice. We went off to shop around Oxford street, stopped at the famous Selfridges, I finally got my hands on some Laduree macarons, we had a magnificent afternoon tea, and before I knew it... it was time to go back home.

I have a leftover 10 British Pounds, so that means I absolutely must come back soon! ;)
In all seriousness, London is a phenomenal city, and I have to thank Nokia for the amazing experience. I couldn't have pictured a better weekend! Soon I'll share the video we worked on, and the limited edition LeiVanKash piece will also be announced.

Talk soon,
xo

NEW YEAR WISHLIST.

Just like last year, I wanted to construct a vague "wish list" of things I want to buy myself, or accomplish in the upcoming year! I did actually manage to get most of the things I wanted last year, but mind you.. I bought them all myself :) I think the last time someone actually gifted me something was when I was 13 haha

Hermès Bangle: Just so beautiful and simplistic- ideal for bracelet stacking (I refuse to call it arm candy).

Cameo "He Said What?" Skirt: I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it, and I think I'm just waiting for it to go on sale.

Cartier Love BraceletArguably the best materialistic gift to receive from somebody.

Yves Saint Laurent Wallet: Absolutely love the front design of this wallet. Now if only I could find it somewhere!

Alexander Wang Boots: Just any boots by Alexander Wang = Yes please. I'm dying for a pair of lace-up heeled booties, but can't seem to find the perfect pair!

Zara Strap Heels: These babies are sold out. But... they're so so beautiful. Too beautiful.

Travel: This year I turn 18, which means I can travel freely and book hotels on my own! I just really hope to visit the one place I've been wanting to go to ever since I can remember: california ... and not book a return ticket... ;)

Graduation/Prom: I finished school this December,  but I still feel like I'm in High School by association. I haven't had a graduation ceremony yet, and I still have to go to prom. So of course, that definitely will define my year :) ... this sounds like foreshadowing haha

ROSÉ.

Well, the winter is certainly upon us here in Toronto. Judging by this outfit, I wouldn't blame you if you assumed I was weather-challenged ;) haha
Pullovers like this gorgeous rose one I ordered from oasap are a must-have in my wardrobe; you can pull it on and look effortlessly put-together! Paired with an essential, basic skirt and heels, you're ready for the snow... just kidding! You're reading to freeze! ;)

ECCENTRIC.

Pairing a patterned blouse with untraditional bottoms is quite the challenge. I believe that whatever your wildest desires are, when it comes to patterns, go for it! As long as it's harmonious in some way, though.
Whether it works or not- you'll still be eccentric; and hey, that's already better than being boring.
This upcoming week is going to be a busy one: I have a shoot for an iphone  app (with one of the best and loveliest makeup artists), and more school school school. Can't believe I'm lessons away from being graduated!
See you soon!

SEASONS HAVE CHANGED.

Hi, don't remember me? Ya I don't remember you either haha
Seems last time we talked it was still summer, and now it's practically colder than winter. So weird, I remember last year this day it was 30 degrees. It's literally warmer in February! Oh, I'm a very weather-dependent person. I can talk about the weather for hours, and it certainly won't be small talk haha. I just need sun for survival, and sadly, with hurricane sandy and who knows what else, I haven't seen sun in weeks. Rare for Toronto.
Okay, aside from the awkward-person-in-an-elevator weather talk, I'm having to make serious decisions right now in terms of school. I want to finish before December but that's taking sacrifices. I don't want to talk about it really, because that's something that needs to be done, not talked about. So why am I blogging about it? Gah, it's just clogging up my brain and I have no one to talk to about it. But hey, they say success is measured by what you sacrificed to get there. Senior year problems... :)

In love love love with my prada sunglasses, which I randomly stumbled upon in a sunglasses shop. I'm getting a new little something soon, which I can't wait to share with you all. Thanks for sticking by me, and I promise the best posts are to come your way soon. I can't wait for what's ahead.

STRIPED.

Another post coming to you at 2:30 in the morning ;)
#studentlife, well no, actually.. #procrastinatorlife
Nonetheless, this concludes the series of 3 outfits that my wonderful friend Julia filmed and photographed for me, and tomorrow I'm out to film 4 more with my mom. Thing is, she doesn't know how to use a DSLR camera haha so this should be interesting! Oh oh oh, I drove myself to the dentist yesterday! I'm so proud! I didn't drive back though because the dentist used anesthesia on me, and I swear I swallowed it or something because I felt very loopy. Can anyone explain why I get 5 cavities every year? I know people who don't even brush their teeth every day but have no problems. Sigh.
See you tomorrow! :)

PARTY IN THE BACK.

Hello there!
I absolutely love waking up to the rain, hitting snooze and not even bothering to worry about "wasting time" or "but I need to be somewhere". Ah, the homeschool life. So I worked on these pictures for a few hours for you guys! I naturally gravitate towards things that look unusual: shredding, weird fabrics, and studs on just about anything is my jam. Every part of this outfit is in some way unusual, although it looks very simple from far away. I still can't get over the fact that I bought these Seven For all Mankind jeans for $5 (thanks Anat!)... I should have probably worn them on another day though, my legs were burning in the heat haha
Open back Top: Brandy Melville / Gray Printed Jeans: 7 For all Mankind / Purse: Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip / Sunglasses: Ray-ban Wayfarers / Studded Sandals: ZARA
I wore my Brandy Melville Chiyo Top so that the cool design in the back could be seen! To be honest I only bought this shirt to go with the bra... smart shopping I know haha

Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs / Eye bracelet: Romwe / Hamsa bracelet: Brandy Melville
My friend Julia and I went to Joey Don Mills, a really nice restaurant in Toronto, and of course, considering the salads were over $16... we got the side salads hahaha
It was delicious though .. while it lasted ... for 2 minutes LOL

BARCELONA

Greeeetings from my hotel room!
Allow me to share with you all, the magical city of Barcelona. I’ve always heard people talk about how the city gives you an indescribable feeling, although I never understood quite what they meant until I saw it for myself. I don’t mean to sound like I know anything about architecture, because trust me I don’t, but Barcelona’s is briliant. You turn the corner on a random street, and there you’ll find an unusual, artistic building with eyeballs coming out of it. It’s like in school, when there’s that one artsy kid that dresses in rainbow pants and owns it- that’s Barcelona. Although the European charm is still there, the whole city has such a Middle-Eastern feel to it, it almost felt like walking around in the Dubai. I also saw inside an olympic stadium, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. We took an organized tour from our hotel in Tossa De Mar there, which I wouldn’t recommend to anyone visiting for the first time because they don’t give you any more than 2 hours to walk around, which is nowhere near enough time. It’s so unfortunate that we didn’t end up staying in Barcelona.. the city is simply amazing and I will 100% return (without my mom hehe).
Te amo Barcelona!

Shorts and shirt from ZARA
Tourist Sonya haha

Eyeballs coming out of the building! Brilliant!

You can never go wrong with a selfie!

We had lunch in a cute little Thai restaurant named Bun Bo.

Orange trees growing (for decoration.. but it was still so pretty!)
